If Jesus Conquered Death, Where Is He Now?
Christians often tell me that Jesus conquered death. They tell me that this is what makes him the real deal. But if this is the definitive “proof” that Jesus is the real deal, then where is he? If he really conquered death in the manner that Christians claim, then he should be walking around the world. Where is he?
You can’t just claim that some person who lived 2000 years ago is still alive and not be able to show him off. Anyone can make claim, but being able to back up that claim is the trick. I can say that Aristotle conquered death and then make up some excuse for why you can’t meet him. Maybe if built a spaceship is left the planet or something, but he came back from the dead and is still alive… I swear. Some how I doubt that would satisfy my Christian friends.
So when I ask Christians about where Jesus is, they tell me that he is sitting at the right hand of God. Well, isn’t that convenient. This is when Christians drag out the Bible as evidence to this fact. To me that is no different that my assertion that Qui-Gon Jinn has conquered death too. My evidence for this is the Star Wars Saga of course.
The fact is that the claim that someone conquered death is not new nor is it convincing without actual evidence. Personally, I don’t even think it is desirable. Who really wants to live forever, anyway?
