The only problem with this is that hearts don\u2019t \u2018know\u2019 anything. The heart is a muscle that pumps blood.<\/p>\n<p>Religious believers are always trying to separate human compassion from the brain and transfer that capacity onto the heart. I get that there is a certain metaphoric use of the heart as the center of emotion, but I think that some religious believers take that metaphor literally.<\/p>\n<p>Our brain is the center of both our cognitive reasoning and our emotional feeling. As a matter of biology, we are our brains.
