One of the things that really annoys me about fundamentalist Christians is that they often have an ignorance of an entire field of study; sometimes multiple fields of study. But Ethics in particular seems to be a field that many Christians aren\u2019t even aware exists.<\/p>\n

It is not unusual for me to be in a conversation with a fundamentalist and they ask, \u201cWhat is the basis for morality?\u201d Despite the fact that I have written an article destroying the idea that God some how \u201cgrounds\u201d morality<\/a>, they insist that without their God in particular, there can be no moral grounding and hence no morality.<\/p>\n

It seems that these particular Christians know absolutely nothing about ethics and don\u2019t seem to want to know anything about ethics. They just want to play, \u201cgotcha\u201d and the problem is that they are too ignorant to know that they have lost the game.<\/p>\n

Fortunately for them, ignorance is of a particular nature that it can be dispelled through knowledge. All they have to do is go to a library or a book store and read a basic introductory guide to ethics. I would recommend something with \u201cfor dummies\u201d in the title.
