Every year for at least three years now, the Freethought Society<\/a> (of Greater Philadelphia) has put up a Tree of Knowledge outside the Chester County Courthouse<\/a> in West Chester, PA<\/a>. The tree is a large evergreen decorated with the laminated book covers of various atheist, scientific, philosophical, and even religious books. Every year there is always a fight. This year we may lose that fight.<\/p>\n

I have written about the Tree of Knowledge struggle in previous Examiner articles HERE<\/a> and HERE<\/a>. This year, the County Commissioners are trying to change the rules to purposefully exclude us from taking part in the winter season. Christians think they own the month of December and the entire winter season and they don\u2019t.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow the Commissioners are going to vote on some new rule \u201cResolution 58-10\u201d which they think will exclude us from the winter displays. One of the Commissioners is a Democrat and sympathetic to our side in this, but she is outvoted 2 to 1.<\/p>\n

This is what I need you to do. We need to call and send e-mails to the Commissioners TODAY!!! You don\u2019t have to live in Chester County, but you should let them know if you do.<\/p>\n

1. Tell the commissioners NOT to pass Resolution 58-10, which will unfairly exclude many different groups including the Freethought Society.
\n2. Tell them that it is unfair and illegal for them to give special treatment and secret information to one group (namely, \u201cThe Pastor\u2019s Network\u201d).<\/p>\n
